Here they come – 20/06/2010.
The first chilli pods are now showing in the tunnels, with the Early Jalapeno's, Hungarian Hot Waxes, Super Chillies and Cayennes being the first out.
Give it another month and the tunnels will be a-wash with colour and chilli!

The chilli farm opens it doors for the 2010 season – 02/05/2010.
The doors to our poly tunnels are now open and ready for visitors! After the freezing winter we are so pleased to be feeling the heat in the sun again with the poly tunnels warming nicely.
Both the Annum and Chinense tunnels are now fully planted and the farm shop is heaving with both chilli plants and sauces.
To compliment our chilli walk, we have added a small picnic area next to the tunnels, and plans are afoot to build a customer BBQ area.
Dick Willows Cider Farm stocking our products – 27/02/2010.
As a major lover of Cider it was with sheer joy that we got the chance to meet Richard from Dick Willows Cider Farm at one of our markets in Bath.
Richard tours the markets looking for novel local products to stock at his cider farm shop in Bathford and luckily stumbled upon us!
Naturally I leapt at the chance of making the first delivery to Dick Willows, coming away with a few litres of his Broadside Ciders. Absolutely fantastic farm shop with cool music playing and a variety of locally sourced product. It really is worth a visit - check out his website at www.dickwillows.com for more info.
Highlight of the trip though had to be the lady who bought a bottle of our sweet chilli sauce only two minutes after it was put on the shelf. At this stage we had not even discussed retail prices and Richard had to ask me how much he should sell it for! So a very promising start from a new stockist of ours - cant wait for the next order!!! Cheers Dick Willows....
Chilli Festival 2010 date announced – 24/02/2010
Last year we held our first ever Chilli Farm Open Day. The event saw the most amazing weather as well as a few crazy individuals prepared to take part in our Chilli Hardman Eating Contest!
This first event was relatively small. This year however we plan to increase the size and make it a day and night to remember! There will of course be the compulsory Chilli Eating Contest, as well as chilli tasting and chilli related BBQ. This year we are also adding a bar and live local bands
The live music will be headlined by a local band "Journey Up The Wood" who are rather famous around these parts! On top of all this we have Kangaroo Boxing, Bouncy Castles, Bouncy Slides, traditional English farmyard games, farm tours and pony and trap rides.
The date for this event is September 11th 2010. Entry is free to the day event with £5 per person to the night time event.
So, if you fancy something a little different please do make a date in your diaries and watch this space for further details!
The Upton Cheyney Chilli Company ‘Chilli Walk’ – 05/02/2010.
As you may know our Poly tunnels are open throoughout the growing season where visitors are welcome to take a peek inside. This experience is now further enhanced with the construction of our new "Chilli Walk"
Starting in the car park next to the farm shop, the walk takes you up to the tunnels via 8 information stations. Each station tells a different story relating to chillies, as well as having featured fruits - all of which can be found growing in the tunnels.
Towards the end of the walk there is a small picnic area with outstanding views across Bristol and out towards the Welsh mountains in the distance. Furthermore the kids will love our farm animals that are dotted around including piglets, calves and our big bull! A tribe of ducks and geese can also be found free roaming as well as an increasing number of rabbits and guinea pigs.
The walk only lasts a few minutes and is suitable for most ages and abilities. In wet weather however it may become slippy as it is on grass. Boots may be required in very wet conditions.
Hope to see you walking the walk soon!

Chilli Growing Kits now available – 18/11/2009.
We are very proud to announce the introduction of our very own chilli growers kit. Contained within the box is everything you need to start growing your own chilli’s at home. Included is a propagator, a variety of seeds, growing pots and media, plant labels, instructions and delicious recipe ideas for use once the chilli’s have grown.
Growing chilli plants from seed is amazingly rewarding, although there is only a relatively small window of opportunity to successfully get them sown. Ideally seeds should go in between March and April.
Any earlier and seedlings will become leggy as they search out light, whilst any later and your crop will be reduced as fruit may not ripen. So, feel free to buy your chilli growers kit from our on-line store now!
New Online Store and Website – 18/11/2009.
Well if you are reading this then this piece of news will come as no surprise! Following a successful first year of growing chilli’s and converting them into a variety of sauces and jams, we are pleased to launch our chilli farm to the masses with our brand new website.
The website is designed to provide as much information as possible about our chilli farm, as well as keeping you informed about up and coming events, and of course the opportunity to buy our products via the online shop.
We do hope you find the web site useful, although should you feel that the site is lacking in information or indeed could do with improving please do let us know and we will see to it!
